There are two options for Castle Lager Pirates Grand Challenge fans this week. Alberton host Roodepoort in the Feature Match and Raiders travel to Wanderers Rugby Club.
Alberton are fresh from a convincing victory against Wanderers last week and will be counting on their home ground advantage against Roodepoort, to make it two in a row. Judging by the attendance so far this season we can expect a large crowd of the ‘Alberton Faithful’ in attendance tomorrow, ready to get behind the Elande and enjoy some great rugby. The match-up against Roodepoort, currently 5th on the log, will be a good measure for the Alberton team.
Roodepoort coach, Neil Kalify said: “We are really looking forward to it and if all goes to plan it will be a very exciting game of rugby”. He has made some rotational changes to the squad- providing opportunities to a few players in new positions.
Raiders director of rugby, Derek Jardine mentioned last week that they would need to win every game to secure a place in the play-offs, making their fixture against Wanderers on Saturday a must win-game. However, Wanderers have the home ground advantage and are long overdue for a win this season. This match could turn out to be tighter than expected.
